@GabeMoralesVR I loved them too, they were so colorful and fun. Ive never been a huge video game person except for fun fighting games and racing games from the 1990s. I find the modern games have too many buttons to figure out on the controller lol
@BenHigbie Play Virtua Fighter 5 REVO! It releases on everything next thursday but it's already out on PC. Still just 3 buttons, still the best fighting game series ever created!

Note that while characters DO have hundreds and hundreds of moves, you don't need to use them all. Virtua Fighter can be played using just solid, basic strategies and it'll take you VERY far.
So what exactly is Virtua Fighter all about?
@GabeMoralesVR I used to love virtua fighter! this game looks like a lot of fun. I remember the controls being really easy to figure out quickly
@BenHigbie I lived and breathed fighting games in the 90's. Largely have fallen off after the 2000s, but I still play VF constantly. VF5 Revo came out in february, and I have over 400 hours on it already. It's just so much fun.
Oh, and if you hadn't kept up, VF6 is in the works, after a 20 year hiatus. It looks incredible:

@BenHigbie That's actually why they are re-releasing VF5 next thursday, it's a test of their online rollback code for VF6. To let people beta test it while they're still working on VF6, they put it into VF5. Incidentally, VF5 REVO's netcode is honestly terrific. For a game like that, being able to play smoothly online is so important. This is easily the single game I'm most hyped about these days.

@GabeMoralesVR do you use a controller for it or the keyboard? Im so terrible at playing video games with a keyboard lol
@BenHigbie i just an 8bitdo joystick, but i started playing vf in the arcades. I do think vf is much easier when i can have my index middle, and ring fingers on the 3 buttons at all times.
@GabeMoralesVR Yea these kinds of fighting games, the joystick is a big part of it cause trying to use the directional buttons on a keyboard for that type of game wouldnt work well, for me at least. I really liked the six button street fighter layout for the arcade controller . my simple brain can understand that lol
