I got like 70 hours into this game before realizing if you hold down and hit the R-dash you dash *straight downward*. It seems to be entirely useless but it looks really cool
I JUST DISCOVERED IF YOU HAVE ONE OF THE CLOCKWORK HELPER DRONES OUT, AND YOU START PLAYING THE NEEDOLIN, THEY ATTEMPT TO SING ALONG. THEY MAKE A LITTLE WHIRRING COOING NOISE AND IT IS ADORABLY PATHETIC
@mcc I like how they sleep when you sit on a bench. The cozy vibes of Hornet sleeping on her bed in her bellhome while little cogwork owls nap on the perch above her are perfection.
@megmac @mcc Yes! was going to mention this bit. A nice continuity with the weaverlings and hatchlings in Hollow Knight too 🥰
@mcc does it skip animations? Commonly these kinds of dashes are used for dash cancel techniques, allowing you to cut recovery animations short or out completely and chain together new moves.
@mcc oh yeah that is fun for falling down very tall rooms. only useful if you're on a replay and wanna skip 'cutscene' sections tbh
@Foxtrot68 @mcc it can be useful in some fights to avoid projectiles. Not that I can do it, but it’s possible.
@mcc I kept thinking about that ability during the Grand Mother Silk fight; specifically, I kept thinking, “if I were better at this game, I would be using that ability”. Ah well.

@mcc I got 110 hours into it before learning that move. And it's not even the only move that I missed.

But I don't feel bad about it, because there are many useless moves in this game. Like, stop giving me actions that use silk; I decided at the start of the game that silk was for healing, I'm not changing now.

@mcc I'm 60-something hours in and I only realized last night that you can use the dash to go upwards on walls
