It is almost as though Britain is only interested in control of land and surrounding water with their resources. Someone tell me that this is not true?

@Wen I think the idea is that you don't pay taxes so you don't get the healthcare, which works fine if you're a traditional old-school tax evading Tory. Not so good for ordinary people though.

@dave I suppose that is one way of looking ar it. But as the UK control (effectively) the country and its ability to form business and political alliances with countries who might invest I am afraid the argument fails. British overseas territories are largely a joke - do it properly (and tbf France makes a better stab at it) or not at all.
