I've been making some progress, but I also realised that I'm making many more individual boxes than I expected. Not so much standardised boxes. So for now I stick with #OnShape and won't retrain to OpenSCAD (yet)

I made some progress creating bins for my IKEA Samla/openGrid project #3Dprint #IKEA #SAMLA #openGrid

I also have to admit that I misunderstood #openGrid a bit when I started this project. I had hoped there'd already be many bin designs. Instead, I'm basically reinventing stuff that exists for #GridFinity onto oG as if it was meant to exist in a Samla box lying flat on the ground
@jay_peper opengrid is for vertical, gridfinity for horizontal storage. Or better to say: That's the typical use case πŸ™‚ What are you reinventing?
@skyr openGrid as horizontal storage in a tiny space (a 5L Samla container)
@jay_peper ok, not the typical choice πŸ™‚ (but there is no right or wrong, what works for you is just fine).
What made you choose opengrid over gridfinity for that? The "clicky" aspect?
@skyr the grid size. I have a lot of small stuff in there and with Gridfinity, I get 3x5 tiles. openGrid gives me 5x7 - the clicky aspect came on top as these boxes are mobile
