I once won a chili cook-off against like a dozen fellow employees that was judged by a local chef from a $100/plate restaurant over a decade ago. I forget this for years at a time. But then I remember it was one of my proudest accomplishments and I have the urge to let people know that I can fucking cooooook!
After I won the chili cook-off, one of my older coworkers was so salty about my win that would only scowl when they would see me. Every. Damn. Time.

Oh! And I also forgot! I premade the chili the day before and I got the schedule wrong for the following day and I didn't even have time to get it fully heated before judging.

The chef/judge ate it cold and I stilllllll won.

I actually don't even make chili this way usually, but what made my chili so good that it even won while it was cold?

I combined my tikka masala recipe with my typical chili recipe and instead of chicken or ground beef, respectively, I used cubed roast.

And also, none of us were chefs. Just a bunch of home cooks who all made some great chili.

I don't even like competition.

Except for chili cook-offs.

Does anyone actually lose at a chili cook-off?

#TikkaMasala in chili is what I’ve been waiting for my entire life and didn’t know it until now

@paninid you're so welcome, enjoy! ❤️‍🔥✨
@paninid lol, I just checked your hashtag and at least from my instance, it's kind of fun to see that your reference to my chili tikka masala is the only thing tagged anywhere for it 🤣
@paninid @revoluciana in a similar style, I tried garam masala as a base for a cheese pizza last week and it works amazingly well.
