As a refresher, forging a vvs ele halberd with a fairly amazing blacksmith in #RagnarokOnline only had a 43.8% success rate, or 73.8% if you went for no star crumbs. It'd take 12 oridecons and 10 steels, and ori had a 1.05% drop rate from Alarms. Not even counting the other ingredients, that's days worth of farming. If you wanted then to refine it to +6 that's another 6 oris and a slim 19.5% success rate. Of course people bought from botters, that's modern gacha level rates right there
If I'm doing my maths right that's over 92% failure rate, considering you needed 1 weapon per element that makes a very long grind. And again, that's assuming you had a smithy with 99 dex and luk which was an ordeal to build in the first place. All this low probability stuff pushed players into paying real money for ingame items which created a demand that only bots could satisfy. All they're doing in RO3 is to just make all that official afaict so it's a very faithful original RO experience imo
