Since they've all abandoned this place, I feel compelled to note there is zero "public benefit" to quarterly deprecations and unnecessary massive overhauls of working code (with scads of reverse dependencies) solely to ensure your company's name is in "headlines" enough to generate more revenue from other organizations with very questionable ethics and business practices.

Might even make one continue to strive to abandon what was a modestly decent ecosystem.

At a guess it sounds like a complaint about Posit and tidyverse.

I mean there does seem to be more and more packages now loaded with `library(tidyverse)`

(And one of the justifications I had for not using AI coding assistants in a recent submission to a review committee)
