Revealing, eye opening.

Making the American Dollar Small Again, at its best.

I wonder what this does to consumer prices in the US?

Asking for a friend.

I'm no Trump fan, but this graph makes it pretty clear the dollar has been declining for decades
@fu no. It doesn't. The three years marked are only incidentally in order. The graph shows randomly shuffled up and down years, with this year among the worst
@cliffordheath thanks for the clarification. It's clear now. I think when I looked at this on my mobile client I didn't notice the detail.

@VeroniqueB99

A.I. bubble popping in 4. 3. 2....

Bye bye USD.

Which, I have to say, is good (American exports become cheaper to the world) and bad (Cost of debt skyrockets, cost of imports climbs)

@Arapalla @VeroniqueB99

America:
Self-sufficience, please. And get to work! 😉

@Arapalla ....depends on what the BRICS do....😬

@VeroniqueB99 I suspect iy's part of Dony Joker Trumpy's plan: a weak dollar makes it easier and cheaper for other countries to buy US products and services.

Not sure we should see this as a good sign. Quite the opposite.

@thierry_van_kerm yep... I'm watching the BRICS too...

@VeroniqueB99

We are only in the first year… you ain’t seen nothing yet.

@xs4me2 I'm afraid you are quite right....😬
@VeroniqueB99 what's weird is that I keep seeing US news reports where they say tourist numbers are down because of the strong dollar. It takes seconds to see its really weak but it's like they're trying to find an excuse for why people aren't visiting the US
@azog yup... not sure what they think...that everyone is as stupid as they are and they won't notice maybe?
@VeroniqueB99 - I am wondering on that one myself.

@VeroniqueB99 Funny… I recall once when AU$1 was worth more than US$1. That was around 2008.

I bought a radio transceiver about that time since I figured that'd be the cheapest price I'd see in a long time for something like that.

@stuartl yep...I share MAAAAANY such examples...😉
