Betcha can’t do this with an #F35. But the #Grippen is built for this.

pretty sure there's video of it on YT (for the f-35). and the Grippon too.
the Grippen is still way cooler though. and cheaper, and comes with IP transfer, and in Canada maintenance and support, and and and all sorts of other benefits over the f-35
Grippens are still cooler.
@maya_b
Cooler, cheaper, built for the exact conditions we can expect to use them under, they could be made here, serviced here. And we wouldn’t be dependent on a potential adversary for their maintenance and support.
The Grippen is a no-brainer, really.
we do have some leverage on the f-35:

despite hating it, politically committing to buying more f-35s would put Canada in a stronger position re trade deal with the tantrum in chief.
Rising trade tensions with the U.S., along with questions about Canada’s sovereignty, initiated a review of the purchase of F-35 fighter jets. For the time being, Canada has contractually committed to buying 16 F-35s, with the option to purchase up to 88.
US Air Force pilots in fifth-generation F-35A fighter aircraft have practised landing on a highway in Europe for the very first time. Two F-35A Lightning II fighters landed on a strip of road of about 30 metres wide in the region of Lapland (Finland), as part of exercise Baana 24, a Finnish Air Force road-based exercise, which also featured the participation of personnel and assets from Allied countries Germany and the United States. The landing was undertaken by two US Air Force F-35A Lightning II aircraft assigned to the 493rd Fighter Squadron, 48th Fighter Wing, currently based at Royal Air Force Lakenheath in the United Kingdom. The exercise provided US personnel with an opportunity to learn from their Finnish counterparts' experience and improve their ability to rapidly deploy and employ airpower from unconventional locations.
@fname And this is not your normal 401!
It looks at best like Highway 2 in Ontario 😅
