My recommendation to people who plan to / would like to switch to Linux is usually to switch to applications that exist for both systems first, like Thunderbird, Librewolf, LibreOffice, Zotero, VSCodium. You'll find out quickly what your potential pain points are going to be. But if you get along fine, then swapping out the underlying OS at some later point in time is actually a comparatively small step.
