@thurrott I'd like to comment on your saying the Microsoft account requirement affects nobody...:

Imagine you get a new PC for work at a small company, no IT department, it's on you to make it through the setup wizard.l by yourself.
So you log in with your personal Microsoft account on your work PC. And now your employer has access to your personal files, just because Microsoft tricked you into doing the wrong thing.

@thurrott When it happened to me I did not find the button that says "I work for a company". And Windows would.not accept my Microsoft for work account (apparently like the educational accounts not usable for logging in to Windows).
The MSA doesn't care whether the person in front of the keyboard is acting as employee or individual.
But perhaps my company bought the wrong Windows License (laptop came with Home)?
@Catbot You were probably using WIndows 11 Home. That's MSA only.
