Unfortunately I have to admit that I do not see the USA as a reliable partner under a Republican administration anymore. Neither do I deem my data to be safe with US companies nor do I think that it would be beyond Trump and his minions to make big tech use kill switches if the EU does not bow to their will in whatever they think is an important enough case.
As a consequence I will try to migrate as much of my private stuff as possible to EU bound services, even if it does cost more. I have already started to switch to Proton Mail instead of Google Mail. I am using CollabraOffice instead of Microsoft. Soon Proton Drive instead of Dropbox and Google Drive.

And to make a (very tiny) point I'll buy as much as possible not from Amazon anymore (I have already migrated from Kindle to Tolino - and to be honest it's also because Amazon is ironically flooded with cheap China shit from companies named EUXGHLY and somesuch).

It is a slow process. My Google Phone will eventually be replaced by a FairPhone. Sooner or later I'll use Linux instead of Windows.

Now I only wish I could convince people at work, that digital sovreignty is not only a buzzword...
