@Joshfrai

I love how the contrast on this is just on the edge of the visible. It's like a dream... but it still feels very real. I feel like I'm in a kayak and everyone else is still asleep as I paddle around looking for more scraps of wood for the fire.

@futurebird Thank you! Everyone else *was* still asleep; I was sitting with my coffee in the old wooden boathouse. It was kind of otherworldly.

@Joshfrai

The island was so remote and isolated, there was not a soul to be seen for inches and inches around.

@Joshfrai Gives me "The Mists of Avalon" vibes (Marion Zimmer Bradley)

nicely done!

@Joshfrai But is the island itself lonely?

It might be reading poetry to the mist, the droplets moving gently in appreciation.

Or the island could be listening to the lake around its shores singing the ancient songs of water.

Or maybe the fish in the lake are dancing because they can.

What seems peaceful and quiet and solitary to one being may well be a hidden riot of activity for others.

@the_wub That was kind of anthropocentric of me. But I gotta say, I wasn’t very far away and I didn’t see any poetry books. Maybe reciting from memory.
@Joshfrai Very similar to my view, which we have had all day.
@Joshfrai Welcome to Lakeview, sir. Your wife is waiting for you in 312.
