Squirrels are just Rats with better P.R.
I don't have a forested area, squirrels have to risk their lives to cross a highway and road to get to my yard. But one does.
The cat hates it too. I've been watching it. It stores nuts in my Pine trees /more

(not the same squirrel, I didn't have my camera)

Squirrels aren't allowed in my yard. (Except TIM 😎 )
We've tried to live in harmony but they keep breaking the rules. I caught it on the patio deck, behind a shed, & yesterday in my apple tree on the marsh. I reached over it squirrel to pick apples. It was frozen in place, nowhere to go, trapped. No escape route!

I whistled for #MyLittlePuppy, Jasper, & he showed up. He's not your regular #cat. He's so affectionate outside, knocking me off my feet, rubbing hard against my legs.

I pointed & picked him up to show him the *still frozen* "SQUIRREL!!" 🐿️, who dashed away as Jasper rolled on the lawn. #Caturday

@Rasta HE is always so sweet other than when not lol
@Lstn2urmama He always has the runs. He shit in my cup holder and down the side of the console on the carpet between the seats in the car. Got it on us, and we were unable to do anything until we got home, then I soaped carpet but doubt I got it all. Almost have to take the seat out to get where poop runs. He's a challenge
@Rasta I got the little green machine for that purpose as mine had an issue with travel sometimes and left a mess at some point ... it's was from the winter tires vibration ...she did not have issues before using winter tires... why she suddenly hated travel ...was OK only if held close to our bodies when traveling
@Rasta Squirrels eat our apples on the tree before we can pick them.
@ldmay65 I never thought it was them, I caught a crow with a full apple in its mouth yesterday
@Rasta pretty healthy looking squirrel ...so well fed ...

@Rasta
He, he...a friend always called them rats with fluffy tails. The "fluffy" is their P.R...it makes them cute.

The rat side: I have neighbors who create so much trash that the squirrels easily get into their bins. Then they "hide" their treasures. In snowy winters, I can find a chicken bone (part of a piece of bread or bun) on an outside window ledge.

@ldmay65 We had our old motorhome out touring the province, and we usually go after all the work is done, kids are back in school, some park features are not open anymore, pools for example but you have the place to yourself and rarely need reservations. The seasonal campers, with full decks, have golf carts for vehicles. I watched a squirrel go in and out of the electrical motor all day stashing nuts. Probably chew wires and damage it severely. Don't wait, set rat traps today
@Rasta The PR doesn't work on everybody. I know someone who calls them "tree rats".
@TimWardCam True story, I've never had a bird feeder, but I have a neighbour that attracts rodents, and I put a feeder on a tree away from the house in the backyard and went around the house and returned to see it FULL all around the feeder. OF RATS!!! and I took it down and never had a bird feeder again
@Rasta squirrels are interesting and like to tease everyone .. wish had amera when squirrel was teasing a rabbit that was in the way of it and the bowl of bird seed ... it was too funny...the bunny was having a rest and snoozing ...
