I dunno where the guy or the parents in the opening clip are from, but this is the mentality of central Pennsylvania. It's why it was inevitable that it would become MAGAland. It's why I never once in my life felt a feeling of "home" when growing up, there. It's why most of the people I graduated with who left the area for college never moved back.

Honestly, why this guy didn't go no-contact is beyond me. I mean, even before #Trump took office, I told my mom — who wasn't even showing signs of MAGAism, but had very red friends — that if I came home for a visit and I heard her non-critically mentioning Q or MAGA talking points, that we would immediately pack up, head home and it would be my final visit "home" till her funeral.
