It doesn’t feel oniony. Thay seems like the company learning lessons from Ukraine’s efforts.
This headline reads like news, not the onion
I disagree with other commenters. This does feel wild to read out loud. Maybe I’m just old but “backpack laser drones” sounds like a joke to me.
It only sounds wierd if you haven’t been paying attention. Laser targeting units have been backpack sized for some time. Getting it airborne isn’t a large leap.
I think it feels more onion-y if you read it as if the aircraft are complaining that the drones took their jobs
