How do banned mods expect to defend themselves?

I banned them instance-wide, not specifically for this community; we have allowed mods on alts before to speak, but i think this is a very, very clear case of PTB. They deny the genocide blatantly, and in general has spouted pretty disgusting bullshit.

As for the genocide denial claim, check out this thread. lemmy.world/comment/19713120 (Deleted comments but check modlogs). They have also used “genocide” in quotes. If all of this doesn’t make them a zionist, i do not know what does.

Also small bonus, I was in a thread with another zionist once (in that thread that person went mask off and called arabs subhuman, and was just horribly racist in general) and ikt refuted my “all arab populations support palestine claim”, i am literally in the middle east lmao, didn’t know i actually needed a racist from australia to tell me true reality 😂

In short, this asshole has nothing to defend since they’ve made their positions very clear. I don’t want somebody like them on our instance, even on alt; just to spew hateful rhetoric in “defense” of themselves.

Yeah i noticed, even after the spat between dbzer0 and mog i do not think framing you as the person responsible is okay, since checking the comm modlog it was clearly all by ikt, who as i’ve described is a huge piece of shit; and you’ve abandoned that community anyway checking the “asking for mods” post. I’ll talk to the other mods about this

I also notice that this post doesn’t meet the posting guidelines

• There’s no mod/admin listed

• There are only removed posts, no banned users.

• There’s no screenshot showing the mod name

• There’s an explanation for each removal

• There’s no explanation as to why this is unfair.

It also doesn’t meet many of the rules:

• Quill didn’t receive any of these mod actions.

• There are no mod names attached

• The accused PTB also can’t respond

Browsing through some of the posts across this community, very few actually meet the guidelines and rules. For the sake of transparency and the purpose of this community, shouldn’t the standards be much higher?

Huh, i actually didn’t notice. I only moderate on this community when it’s breaking of instance rules or clear spam, but i leave the actual moderation per comm guidelines to Unruffled or db0. I didn’t even know we have a ‘accused PTB can’t respond’ rule lol, but i have only banned their main, and it was a couple of months ago, unrelated to this post.

You should aim to follow the sidebar rules .

There is no “accused PTB can’t respond”. I don’t know what either of you are talking about. We explicitly allow PTBs to respond. Just not by opening new threads about it.

I’m not as anal about rules like other mods. I understand that people often don’t see the sidebars and mistakes happen easily. So long as things tend to follow the spirit of the comm, I tend to let things go or just ask the OP to amend their post. The rules are there to help people follow the spirit of the comm.

It depends? I think you’re still under the mistaken idea that this comm judges mods on how well they follow their printed rules, rather than how much of a power-trippin’ bastard they’re being. A mod can have bastardly written rules and follow them to a T and we’d still call them bastards for having such rules.
