Excellent news on Mastodon making a Bluesky like starter pack feature https://blog.joinmastodon.org/2025/10/our-ideas-about-packs/

Discovering accounts to follow is a real PITA, and this really helps solve it.

That along with quote posts now a thing makes Mastodon a *lot* more interesting and useful overall.

@gamingonlinux plus, even if we did well enough without starter packs on wherever we started out with that sort of follower-based social media (probably twitter), the thing is that to start from zero again is a completely different proposition.

@gamingonlinux what would *really* help is more websites having links to their fediverse profiles alongside their other socials. So many don’t do this yet, and it would really help current users find stuff to follow, and to promote the platform.

@gamingonlinux we should have suitable hashtags as part of the packs as well to make them more dynamic
