Fascism isn't just randomly rising all around the world at once. It's the same billionaires making it happen all over the world. Go after the billionaires!

They've declared war on the rest of us. We'd better return the favor if we want to survive.

@JeremyMallin
I think we need Kim Stanley Robinson's _Ministry For The Future_ right now. Their 'dark-ops' wing would solve that problem promptly.

@JeremyMallin

Tax Wealth, the hugely nonpartisan, supported by all voters, in every party and wing.

Liberal voters say tax Wealth, conservative voters want excessive Wealth taxes, left voters want billionaires taxed.

Some party leaders oppose taxing wealth, because corrupt.

Fix your party, loudly support wealth taxes. Tax billionaires into millionaires. Everyone agrees.

Fairness works.
Fairness saves democracy.

That self government shall not perish

Tax Wealth

@kevinrns @JeremyMallin

Tax it how?

With what army?

@violetmadder @kevinrns @JeremyMallin since when is the army made up of tax collectors

@noodlemaz @kevinrns @JeremyMallin

The tax collectors would probably need to BRING an army, is my point.

We're talking about ecocidal war profiteers here, the richest of the rich, oligarchs who don't flinch at mass murder. Whenever they can't simply offshore their assets out of reach or lobby themselves endless loopholes, they still have a nearly unlimited capacity for bribes and can threaten judges, lawyers, and juries with worse shit than death. They buy off whole governments and play with them like toys.

So, HOW the fuck does anyone plan to get them to pay their damned taxes?

Seriously. How does that work?

@kevinrns @JeremyMallin Have to take power first. But great agenda item.
@[email protected] : Go after the billionaires!
(You): Yeah, tax the billionaires!
Uh huh.
@JeremyMallin they are all funded by fossil fuels and cars, either directly or indirectly.
@JeremyMallin i'm just gonna say "atlas network"
@JeremyMallin I'm told we mustn't behead billionaires lest we be like the Nazis.
@hllizi @JeremyMallin we probably shouldn't, and we don't have to. There are a lot of ways to take their power away, no reason to start at beheading lol
I think the common conception that the options are "let this happen" or "go straight to extrajudicial killings" is probably put there on purpose so we choose the former, but there are a whole lot of other options. A good start is boycotting corporations wherever possible and paying workers directly when we can. Convincing others is the hard part
@raphaelmorgan @hllizi @JeremyMallin If you behead them they will simply be replaced. The problem is not individual billionaires, but the system that gives them their power.
@raphaelmorgan @hllizi @JeremyMallin
Raphael points to fairly opposite responses to the excessive influence of this crop of billionaires - deadly force to not doing business with them (the individual choice). Our soiled Supreme Court failed us when citizens United decision made bribing politicians an unlimited privilege and tool of the wealthy. Secondly our FTC/DOJ antitrust actions have handed ordinary American citizens to preditory corporations.

@raphaelmorgan @hllizi @JeremyMallin

I support a secret third option

@burnoutqueen @hllizi @JeremyMallin especially considering killing someone is literally the hardest thing to do to them! By the point someone is able to effectively use a guillotine, they have already taken enough of the billionaires' power to control whether they as individuals live or die, which probably comes after the power to control whether everyone else on the planet does lol
If they're already powerless and can't keep burning the world either way, what's the point of killing them?

@raphaelmorgan @burnoutqueen @hllizi @JeremyMallin Are you sure? Being able to guillotine someone just means that you temporarily have power over their physical body, not that you are more powerful in all ways. Louis XVI for example was able to flee before he was executed, and if he lived he probably would have been able to do it again and riled up support behind him again (although of course, having the diving rights of kings is something different than being a billionaire).

That is not to say that killing only individual representatives of a system necessarily will help in it's abolishment, of course, only that it's not certainly superfluous.

@zvavybir @burnoutqueen @hllizi @JeremyMallin I am sure that having temporary physical power over every billionaire's body is a very difficult task lol
The temporary is a good point, ig violence could cement it, but just to get to that temporary state we'd have to do most of the work of deconstructing their power already. Otherwise they'd just call whichever cops they've bribed the most, or their private security guards, or promise anyone in the room $100 million to stop us
@raphaelmorgan @burnoutqueen @hllizi @JeremyMallin Yes, but a) we don't need temporary power over every billionaire's body at same time and b) when we say guillotining we of course in reality mean killing (i.e. e.g. shooting) and people like Brian Thompson and Charlie Kirk both were able to be killed without them being able to retaliate, so I think it's more possible than it sounds (although of course they don't have as much security as e.g. Elon Musk).

@JeremyMallin there is this story of a car bombing under the franco regime. Guy was wearing bright red gloves. Ditches them will running away. Big, smoll, light hair, dark hair, nobody could get his description right except for the red gloves.

Sharing here for no reason.

@JeremyMallin Better still, why don’t we stop being the billionaires customers. No need for any political push. We just need to collectively do it.

@JeremyMallin

Es sind nicht die Ketten, es sind nicht die Bomben, es ist ja der Mensch, der den Menschen bedroht.
