Meet “Takkebak” - my most recently acquired transportation device - over a medium somewhat less travelled by myself.

I got my first sailing school diploma (CWO 1 - non-tidal waters) yesterday so I’m almost ready to start leveling up my skills on my own boat. This is somewhat smaller than the behemoth I had to be handling for 3 days on the IJsselmeer this week.

@ghard She's a beauty! I hope she won't fight you.
@useravoiding the previous owner used to do a lot of competitive sailing and she is rigged as such. Also the complement of sails it came with reflects that. Lots of trimming options, light weight and a huge mainsail. What could possibly go wrong? 🤔 😅
@ghard Ha ha, sounds like you're into the deep end!
Wow, she’s pretty. The nice thing about wooden boats is that you get to know them well because they need so much TLC
@lilletale she lives under a hood when not sailing so less UV damage to the lacquer. The hull and deck are of laminate construction which also helps make keeping her in shape slightly less laborious than with some more traditional wooden boats.
I’ve only encountered traditional wooden boats and they are truly are wonderful creatures
