Random idea of an app / website of mine: a system that knows about TV shows and video games progression, and allows watchers / players to state where they are.

Then two people could interact with each other by taking the common highest denominator in the story. Could be hard to implement for games with additional/optional content, but it would prevent the « Have you seen [massive spoiler] yet? » questions.
