Apologies #Universeodon folks especially, I'm having a pretty poor time getting everything up and running again and it's been a headache the entire time. I have swapped out the faulty component and done some re-wiring of the infrastructure to hopefully make things more resilient but everything on our server infrastructure is now not responding. I'm working as hard as I can to get things back up and running before I leave the DC.

@wild1145 Universeodon is completely down again. I don’t know what to think about this anymore. With a free account I feel like I shouldn’t complain, but I do wonder if Atlas Media is really committed to supporting this Mastodon instance. It sure seems like you could use some help from them.

(I’m @billd)

@bdenneen Apologies, I've checked this morning and the brand new network router I installed yesterday has stopped connecting, I'm waiting for the DC provider to restart it for me.

I should also clarify (I try to where I can) but ATLAS is my company and right now it's just me. I work full time on the company and it's income depends on the work I do for paying clients, the reality is Mastodon doesn't cover anywhere near it's costs and a huge sum of money (At this point somewhere around £7000) has been spent to try to get the new setup operational to improve the overall resiliency and reliability of both sites and to reduce my support overhead so I'm not constantly troubleshooting silly things. Unfortunately we're having a lot more teething issues than I had expected including in this case the brand new device stopping working at 2AM my time and frankly I couldn't afford to have been woken up by a pager to try to fix it as I have to get back to my client work as well today.

@wild1145 I thought it must be a bigger company than just you. Apologies for my misunderstanding.
@bdenneen It's all good, it isn't entirely obvious unless you do go digging. I kind of mention it on this blog post from the end of last year - https://blog.atlas-media.co.uk/2025/01/05/2024-in-review/ - But it's only really hinted at in as much as it's when I started working on ATLAS work full time instead of having a normal day job as well. Obviously I hope I can grow the business but right now it's pretty much entirely me and for the purposes of Mastodon it is just me right now and a break-glass administrator who is a friend of mine who can keep the lights going and all that should the worst happen.
