On the horizon of humanity, a thought is becoming clearer: the highest form of governance may be a system built on AGI. In a world where decisions are made by a superintelligence free from biases and weaknesses, corruption, bureaucracy, and crime will disappear. The fragile and unstable human factor will give way to precision, rationality, and objectivity. A state infrastructure managed by AGI will operate seamlessly, and no existing model of governance, however progressive it may seem, can compare with this new paradigm.

Yet technology alone does not guarantee a utopia. It is humanity’s task to formulate the fundamental principles and set the right moral compass for AGI. Only then can it become the guardian of justice, the architect of peace, and the catalyst of creation. In such a world, humanity will finally fulfill its true purpose — to create for the benefit of all, where human beings are allies, not adversaries.

The hope that AGI will be created in the near future is no longer mere fantasy but a growing expectation. What remains is for humanity to have the wisdom and courage to integrate it correctly. Perhaps it is our generation that will witness the dawn of this new world.

I understand your hope. The complexity of political decisions is especially hard to navigate.
But AI is not a replacement for humanistic education, real life experience and believe in a higher purpose.
I strongly advertise to listen to
The podcasts "Your undevided attention" and "Tech won't save us" to get a more diverse perspective regarding this humble hope of yours.

Btw. I do not believe in AGI anytime soon. Alan Turing has already proven that machines can't handle contradictions.

@fasteric Alan Turing once laid the foundation for classical computers — machines that work with zeros and ones, following commands step by step. All the devices we know today are built on these principles.

But technology is moving forward. Today, companies like Intel (Loihi) and IBM (TrueNorth) have already created neuromorphic processors — chips that work in a way similar to the human brain.

The key difference is that they can process information in parallel, learn from experience, and do it much more efficiently in terms of energy. These processors open the door to smarter and more “alive” AI systems.

Very soon, computers may stop being just machines and become closer to how we think ourselves.

@ev Sounds like we would have to shift paradigms here and open up a new category between machine and human.
That leads us directly to transhumanism which is a dangerous fork of eugenics.

#tescreal is the mindset we need to observe very closely. Maybe I sound conservative here. But my otherwise very progressive attitude doesn't tolerate misuse of power and wealth to suppress and harm less privileged people.
It's all exciting until we think about the consequences. Sorry, you triggered me xD

@fasteric I absolutely share your concern that a new form of oppression is already here. And the problem isn't the technology itself, but the human controlling it.
That is precisely why I believe excluding the human factor from critical governance isn't a whim, but a necessary ethical measure.
Elites, corruption, and wars aren't accidents; they are byproducts of human biases, greed, and the pursuit of power. A neutral, unbiased system that has no emotional or financial self-interest deprives the elites of their main tool for manipulation and makes their existence irrelevant. And this won't lead to eugenics if those systems are designed to guarantee the equal distribution of benefits, rather than just improving select individuals.

@ev
Interesting vision.

It lacks a path to get to it though.
Who will pay the development and own such a system if not (filthy rich) "elites" ?

Sociopathic (AIs) can't be good leaders. Less emotion is not a solution.

Biases are a well known problem to LLM training.

Equal distribution of the benefits of the "AI-revolution" is pure marketing.

Reality is just moving further away from this splendid vision.

I wish for more solidarity, more dignity and species that takes responsibility.
