I understand, I allow myself to ask you which specific software do you use? A Windows VM works perfectly on a Linux (especially with KVM) and should be able to run most of the software, except in special cases, I think of AutoCAD or the gender stuff. For dev, it should be easier. Obviously need disk space and a minimum of RAM available. The Dual Boot, I do not recommend it.
