This is probably a skill issue but attempting to RDP into any of my Linux desktop VMs hosted on Proxmox causes severe input lag and just overall slow performance.

Setting up an Apache Guacamole host and adding the Linux desktops there runs just fine.

Revisiting this, I created a new Kali VM, set the BIOS to UEFI and changed machine type to q35. Enabled xrdp and the system is so snappy now. What a headache for such a simple fix but problem solved.
