@NanoRaptor I have a hand-cranked drill that belonged to my great grandfather, and maybe one of his uncles before that. It's at least 100 years old, probably older than that, similar to the one in this article: https://www.instructables.com/Old-school-hand-drill-overhaul/

@frownland These are so nice and convenient. I have two that have a hollow handle so you can store drillbits in it with the top unscrewing. One is a two-speed setup, although the transmission is really dodgy.

@smellsofbikes They really are. Mine's a two-speed as well... my grandad was pretty obsessive about keeping it oiled and rust-free so it's in good shape.
