NovaLauncher switched to the dark side, so I started trying out alternatives. Lawnchair Launcher is a good replacement. After a few days, I have the following notes:

Pros: open source; same look'n'feel as Nova.

Cons: Work apps are hard to recognize—they have the same icon as normal apps. Already reported as a bug.
You can search either for apps or on the internet. NL had this integrated into one docker search bar. I couldn't get it to work with Lawnchair. It annoys me a little.

@mirek I'm also looking for a replacement. My killer feature for nova is the integration with sesame search (which is dead by now as well I think)

@mirek Is there a way in Lawnchair to search for apps and contacts at the same time?

@vitSkalicky Yes, it is possible. And now I discovered that you can mix it with web search too. But the display of the result is somehow clumsy. Nova is^H^H was better.

@mirek Nice, I'm just checking it out, but for some reason it refuses to find a contact called "máma" :(. Other contacts work fine.

I can integrate with Sesame though, but that one refuses to find the "Mapy.com" app. Weird
