Earlier this year, we reviewed the evidence for major risk factors for autism. Acetaminophen (paracetamol) didn't even make the chart. Its potential risk increase is 5% but that disappears on closer analysis.

Viral & bacterial infection & fever during pregnancy ARE significant risk-factors and also reasons someone would take acetaminophen.

@infobeautiful Whoa! 😍

Either you and @TheConversationUK
have the same admin or that they are friends. 😂

@infobeautiful

I don't think more autistic people are male I think females are better at masking due to how we are socialized. I'm in my 60s and finally figured ut I must be somewhere on the autism scale but high functioning. There are SO MANY social cues I miss completely.

@darwinwoodka @infobeautiful
I spoke with a father of an autistic child and he said the same thing.
I had a young woman as a trainee and when I explained her behaviour, he suspected that she was somehow on the autistic spectrum. He said that women are harder to diagnose.

But anyway, Trump has no notion of sciences. Do not try to argue about sciences, this is not the point...

@infobeautiful I love how acetaminophen is less significant than "Sibling is a Science / Engineering major" and "Mother caught in Hurricane zone"
@infobeautiful One may argue the child sex factor could be a result of under-diagnosis in females rather than an actual biological fact. Interesting nonetheless
@infobeautiful Had a look at the sources, one points to "autism speaks", aka "allistics speak in the name of autistics while having no clue and paying themselves huge salaries"
