There are roguelites that are fun but just too stressful to fully enjoy (Invisible Inc, Into the Breach) and those that somehow avoid being stressful (Slay the Spire, Hades, Dead Cells). Maybe it's fundamentally just difficulty, but in the stressful ones it feels like you have to play perfectly every single turn or an entire multi-hour run gets scrubbed. Haven't tried FTL or Binding of Isaac yet to see which category they fall into.
All right I beat FTL and can confirm it is not very stressful. There are things you can do that immediately wreck your entire run in seconds (like teleporting a boarding party onto an enemy ship one second before blowing it up with a missile), but when you do that it's more of a slapstick thing than anything. Slapstick gimmick deaths are something I appreciate about Dark Souls so I'll allow it here.

FTL is pretty fantastic. Like a blend of star trek and the Orgegon trail. I think it can be somewhat stressy
