How could I have missed it?

The Atari ST is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year! πŸŽ‚ πŸ₯³ πŸŽ‰ (released in June 1985)

One of my favorite machines and so many good memories on my Atari 520 ST πŸ₯°

If my memory serves me correctly, I think the first Atari ST game my father bought was Space Station πŸš€

I also remember owning Crafton & Xunk, Starglider, Captain Blood, Elite and others (see screenshots)

Do you remember your first games on Atari ST? πŸ˜€

@Gamrok Ehrm. Yeah. Without having any idea what made an "Atari ST" different from the computers (C64s) my friends had I apparently bought a really early grey imported one from a local store, and the only game available was Lands of Havoc.

First game on the ST, developed by Steve Bak without having access to one at that. Let's just say I was ... less than happy.

Otoh it meant I spent all my time on the computer learning to code instead, which ... the rest of my life then has consisted of :D

@troed Thanks for the link. I didn't know about the game Lands of Havoc! (unlike Goldrunner, Return to Genesis, etc.)

Maybe you were programming with GFA Basic? πŸ˜€

@Gamrok ST Basic at first - later 68000 asm and GFA Basic.

Here's a preview of a game I've made to celebrate the ST being 40 :)
