As a lifelong Democrat who also enjoys breathing… oxygen and eating high fructose corn syrup just like all of you, I didn’t know what to make of Adolf Hitler. I’ve spent several lunch breaks watching his speeches (FULL videos) and have come away with the impression that we got him all wrong. The reaction from those on my side of the aisle have really made me rethink whether we’re on the right side of history.
Well, I’m crossing the aisle—I just registered as a National Socialist.
Anyone else? All of us normal and 100% human (what else would I be ha ha ha) Democrats are now going to vote for the Nazis, and so should the rest of you meatba… I mean fellow meatbags
Wait, are they really claiming to be registering as actual Nazi’s now???
For anyone that somehow doesn’t know, Nazi was originally an abbreviation for Nationalsozialist (German for National Socialist). Its kind of insane that these fake democrat twitter bots are claiming to be switching teams to the literal Nazi party, instead of republican/maga.
lol no, I obviously edited it – it’s not like the original bots were oxygen enjoyers either.
Well, as far as we know.
Guess I was not awake enough to catch the other edits - no one else posted the full message and I assumed you did.
I don’t use shitter, and its not worth it to pull up an alternate frontend just to see what shitty bots post on it.
That’s how social media gives impression that there is more hard right people.
Unfortunately it also amplifies the existing ones, because makes them think they are the majority.
how social media
Yes but also
how’s Russia funds social media bots
social media
Hell, PBS news last night kicked off with coverage of Kirk’s memorial service, which they described as having a “massive” turnout. Interesting that they never used the word “massive” to describe the recent anti-MAGA protests.
That’s how I would describe CNN.
I haven’t watched to much this week, but the issues with Charlie Kirk have extended to every news platform. Earlier this year, they were pretty good about their reporting on Palestine which leads me to believe this is an issue with that particular host.
Tbf the memorial filled the stadium and people had to go into a prepped overflow space. Objectively speaking, that’s a good amount of folks.
I want to say NPR used terms like “flooding the streets” and “[5 million people](No Kings anti-Trump protests to coincide with Army’s parade on Saturday www.npr.org/…/no-kings-protests-military-parade)” to describe the anti maga protests.
What articles are you referring to that don’t cover the protests to your satisfaction?
The fact that anyone believes anything anyone says online anymore is ludicrous. Opinions were swayed by bots, that then pushed legitimate people over into an unrealistic ideology. Sure, there are REAL people saying this toxic shit, but it was all pushed over the edge by bots/bad actors.
The danger comes when people think ANY of these “top comments” are what ‘the public really thinks’.
We need a new net with no bots. with PRIVACY and no bots.
That’s interesting
I already knew more about Kirk than I wanted to, but the more I know about him the more I agree with the shooter
I just fear for the shitstorm it’s going to unleash
I gotchu.
6/10. Should have made it one of those really great POV memes where POV doesn’t make sense at all in that context like
POV: You’re a bot
Take your upvote and get out!
Although I must admit that is the logical meme format…
IP: Russia.
I have no proof of the three specific users in the screenshot being Russian, but they do the exact same thing to neighbouring European states to drive division and push them to far right leaders, who are easier to corrupt and onboard for Putin/Russia. Right now they’re kicking out a whole lot of Charlie Kirk misinformation to capitalize on fractures in the US.
IP: Russia.
You’re not wrong but the Internet Research Agency has been outsourcing for a while now as well as make use of VPNs.
He is a horrible grifter
I believe that since September 10th he has been the only good kind of grifter.
I had forgotten that Sept 10 was the day it happened
I had to look it up too just to make the joke!
It’s not even halfway decent writing. It’s quite obvious that many or most mainstream Democrats do not represent left-wing voters, because they’re centrist and pro-corporate, and a lot of the voters are not.
If you’re going to have your bots doing s***, why not get a halfway realistic message for them to spread?
Sad thing is that in this day and age, they’d hardly need to lift a finger to have this rephrased 100 times. But they know they don’t have to. People eat up the garbage from their feed, people (often the same) know that a lot of it is Russian bots.
The thing to understand is that people don’t see outside of their silos.
While it’s obvious when you line then up like that most people will never see that posts. The interact with social media passively and they’re likely to only see one of those posts as they scroll.
I’ve also fallen for and followed a fake account before. It was some neckbeard pretending to be a female disabled doctor. Apparently, he actually was some kind of advocate for the disabled, possibly started with the self-justification to “help”.
Oh wow, apparently it was a bigger deal than I thought back then: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jule_Stinkesocke
Is the one about Kirk unbelievable? Some parts, yes, such as the immediate registration as Republican (not shown in screenshots), but in general, there are favorable non-Republican responses, such as “Shoe on Head”. I’m also upset about quotes out of context, that part seems to be real, and so it builds a bridge from reality to fiction. It’s just that I wouldn’t turn full MAGA because Stephen King smeared a conservative.
Stink e sock e? And the name was fake?
Before I sarcastically say I’m shocked I should look up if it’s a real surname… No dice. Gamers and a furaffinity account appears to be referencing the person, and there’s a children’s book that includes the word in the title.
So without further ado, I’M SHOCKED! SHOCKED I SAY!!!
It was a shock, and my faith in the internet will be lost entirely if it turns out that your name is not actually Killgrind.
(Her supposed real name was Julia Goethe, in case anyone wants to know. Former Twitter handle @JuleStinkesocke.)
At this point, I think it’s a feature. Just like how when Russia does propaganda, they lie so big it’s easily disproven, so once someone bites down on it they’re pulled into a fake world
The old style of US propaganda was to flood the zone - bury what you want to hide out in the open and add so much more information people can’t be bothered to learn about it.
The new style (even before chat gpt) seems to be an ocean of bots and bullshit. Who cares if you can spot a bot if you already don’t trust anyone online? It’s destroying organic communication so we’re forced to go to a central source, which are controlled
The spam detection works, though!
(As intended - on the ones criticising these posts.)
