I just conducted a training for teachers of a non-profit on AI and told them that AI isn't really thinking. They were so shocked.
We have to realize that non-technical folks will accept the marketing talk by the AI propagandists without question since they have no way to verify what they're saying.
This is what worries me about AI in the mind of non-technical people. It's an illusion almost like a magic trick.
The amount of teachers that think those "AI content detectors" actually work is mind-boggling
I'll never understand that. LLMs were trained on data generated by real people, and so, if we're assuming they're working properly, they produce output that very closely mimics real writing.
@the @smattymatty @mahadevank Yes, and all the claims of "superintelligence" and "AGI" and "The Singularity" are just laying the groundwork for capitalizing on that.
They are building Oz, The Great And Terrible, and setting it up to rule over us. And you'll never be able to see the tiny (but incredibly rich) men running the show from behind the curtain.
