The Israeli culture minister has vowed to defund the Ophir Awards which gave the top prize to 'The Sea,' a drama about a Palestinian boy.

@variety_feed This is why I find the boycott call by the film industry problematic. There is often no clear line with these things and funding is difficult for a lot of filmmakers:
"One of the institutions threatened by the boycott call is the Israel Film Fund which stands as the biggest local source of financing and has also been attacked by the Israeli government for funding a number of anti-war movies, such as “The Sea” and Nadav Lapid’s “Yes” which played at Cannes’ Directors Fortnight."
