@Koochulainn @psneeze
sautées in duck fat is missing. (and the winner)
@desinterets Sure what would a Frenchman know about potatoes? 😉 @psneeze
@Koochulainn @psneeze We call them white truffles and Mr Parmentier invented them 😅
second would be grattin dauphinois ...
@desinterets Yeah, Ill give you gratin dauphinoise (probably would have received my #1 if it was an option), but baking potatoes in cream & garlic is arguably cheating.
@psneeze
@Koochulainn @psneeze 🤣 Cheating is the game in cooking.
@desinterets Irish Catholicism and its opposition to dishonesty probably held us back.
But these are the best potatoes, if we are allowed to cheat @psneeze
@Koochulainn @psneeze never had it in all my time in Dublin...
I am weird ?
@desinterets Understandable. It's not exactly the most visually-pleasing dish.
I like it, but a lot of people aren't keen on the aul "mickey soup" @psneeze
@mirabilos @psneeze @Koochulainn
these white blobs are frightening.
@desinterets TBF, it is mostly white/grey blobs. You will have to be more specific
@mirabilos @psneeze

@desinterets @psneeze @Koochulainn oh, I read Cheese, and my reaction referred to cheese, which people throw on gratin I have been offered.

Apparently either I misread or it was edited? Interesting to know that there is gratin without cheese apparently?

@mirabilos @psneeze @Koochulainn
Not really possible (grattin is pretty much the cheese melted on top)

@desinterets @psneeze @Koochulainn hm, just looked it up, and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gratin_dauphinois says different ;)

It also says “cooked in a buttered dish rubbed with garlic” which is about one, one and a half bulbs of garlic less than I’d put in…
