rook's magic is of a "generic" formless type that manifests as white light and smoke. its versatile, but it's generally weak on its own. more complex / powerful spells have to be planned, created, and charged in advance. other people in this society use scrolls / trinkets, but rook uses talismans!

rook has only ever "beaten" khiel once - this was during their first reunion. when khiel was still under the white queen's influence, he ambushed rook under the queen's orders. rook was only able to "win" because his body seemingly fought for him while he was still unconscious/asleep.
