Unfortunately #Proton chose to leave Mastodon since they got more pushback here than on other platforms whenever they stepped outside of the image they portrayed. Thus they sadly won't see your apt post.
(I'm still a Proton Visionary customer though, but even as such they didn't want to admit to why they left the Fediverse)

If my company got attacked on social media like Proton did, I'd also leave. They couldn't say anything without being attacked and called the worst names.
Their Instagram account is nice. They've got nice videos, some stupid jokes, and educational content. It's too bad that a lot of people on the Fediverse aren't able to get their content because of the many other people here that enjoy harassing others.
You're not wrong, but you don't always have the option to drop a whole platform as a controversial company. I used to work for Sony Developer Relations. I've seen it all ... :D
I posit Mastodon is also the place that has the very core of Proton supporters. I'm Visionary myself.

Clearly they do have the option though. Mastodon users also seem to forget how quaint and small the userbase is too.
Never underestimate how important that initial group of "thought leaders" is. That has nothing to do with Mastodon, but all to do with if they move away from Proton and start recommending something else.
(Just to be clear, those persons aren't the same as those who have a need to scream at everyone else for various reasons.)

I completely agree. Unfortunately the loudest idiots here ruined that for the rest... At least in the short term.
They've left Mastodon in the past and returned. Could happen again.
