Oh, yeah, a true classic for #Monsterdon tonight! The Creature from the Black Lagoon, starting at the top of the hour (about fifteen minutes from now)

Bingo card, food, and the movie ready to go.

#Monsterdon is a go!
OK, so, we start with a Bible quotation and then something approaching hard science? Wild.
That hand is so iconic!
Those horns... man. DUN DUN DUUUUUUN!
Stock footage time?
Oh, it was a smokier time back then.
Was there, like, massive publicity or something before they set out? Why is "We failed" all people will remember? Do people even know about the expedition?
BUBBLES bubbles bubbles bubbles

Was that the Kay 2 that he collected?

(You know, like the Audrey 2...)

The ankle fetish arises again...
The gill-man suit looks so gooooood.

Wow, that's a lot of collateral damage for catching one creature.

(I was going to say "monster", but... the creature isn't the real monster here, is it?)

For a suit with so very little control, it emotes surprisingly effectively.

(I think he could get the mouth to open a little with a lot of chin work, and there was some kind of elbow pump that moved the gills a little.)

I do like the captain. Smart fella, that one.
Oh, based on some other cards, I could've had it earlier with "Irresponsible scientific experiment". The oxygen depriving chemical thing?

Sure, let's just spill a bunch of it in the lagoon.

This whole movie is just one ecological disaster, isn't it.

I continue to be impressed at how solid the production values are. Outside of an older sense of pace, it's fairly tight, even.
Wow. If this were a modern production, there'd be ten, twenty minutes left. There's about three to rescue her.
OK, spoke too soon about production values. That bat... that's some rubber bat on a fishing line level bat FX...

"Don't shoot, you might hit Kay!"

"Oh, go ahead and shoot, it's just David!"

Nice. Kept it open for sequels.

Good planning (I know, it was deliberate), because there were, in fact, two.

And another #Monsterdon in the can. That was fun!

It's a classic movie for a reason. Thrills, frills, deliberate chemical spills, all the goodies.

Cheers!
