We’re now Wayland by default in Daily! Looking forward to OS 8.1 being our first release with Wayland by default 🎉

X11 still available as a fallback for now and we automatically switch when we detect a11y features being used during initial setup. Hoping not to have to do that for OS 9 anymore. Working towards an X-less future 🚀

New Dock is building right meow with a handful of bug fixes and background apps support 🚀

New Code and Files were also recently released. Pending releases for Network Settings and Indicator with Airplane Mode improvements. Also new AppCenter with faster and more reliable updates, handful of bug fixes and design improvements, and first steps for getting app ratings from ODRS! All kinds of goodies coming

Dock, Code, Files, Network Settings and Indicator, AppCenter all released! I’m looking at the 8.1 project board right now and it’s getting pretty thin! I think we’re absolutely on track for an amazing new release before winter holiday. Really fucking proud of everything we’ve accomplished over the last year. Proposed a branch to add geo:// uri support to Maps. I hope we don’t get too much shit that this first release is super basic. You can always of course change your default maps app until we can build more features, but at least out of the box we can start to add location uri support to other apps like Mail, Contacts, Tasks, and Calendar and 3rd party apps can depend on this feature being available

Geo URI support was merged in maps, and now I have proposed a branch to make location lines in Calendar into geo links when we can get a location 🎉
