@echo_pbreyer I wish my own (Danish) government would stop being so surveillance happy, but that's not likely to happen for a long time still.
Die Debatte um eine mögliche Chatkontrolle zum Schutz von Kindesmissbrauch in der EU ist neu entfacht. Das EU-Parlament lehnt eine Pauschalüberwachung ab, der Rat ist noch unentschieden. Doch Luxemburgs EU-Parlamentarier*innen und nun auch die Regierung beziehen deutlich Stellung gegen den neuen Vorschlag.
@echo_pbreyer Great! If I sum up the percetage-of-EU-total-population for the 9 countries that are opposing/neutral (pop percents from wikipedia Demographics_of_the_European_Union), that becomes 40.37% of EU pop.
Does that mean that the second condition for Qualified majority, 65% of the total EU population, cannot be reached, even if undecided countries turn in favour?
Something may be lost in translation, but "drawing up a united compromise proposal" isn't a statement that fills me with hope.
