I did start Emacs just now to only to do “C-x 8 FULL BLOCK <RET> C-a C-<SPC> C-e M-w”. xd

(Translation: To copy the „█“ character.)

I would love to have some pup-up Unicode character chooser, where I can look up characters by name, without fancy UI ballast. Just a text field and preview/search results.

(Maybe I will write such app at some point in time…)

@jwo sounds like a cool idea. I'm just thinking to write some elisp and just run that with emacsclient in a separate frame. Prot had code to do that. Adding this as a raycast script with a systemwide keybinding and voilà

@mstempl I agree with use of Emacs as an environment for rapid-ish „application“ development, but in this case, I would prefer a lightweight stand-alone application. It could have much shorter startup time (in case the Emacs is not running) and also integrate with the desktop better.
