#BookologyThursday: In some #Celtic tales, `the supernatural essence in the child is personified as the incarnation or reincarnation of a particular deity. Individual reincarnation is also implied in the story of Daolgas - and there is perhaps a hint of the rebirth of the begetter in the birth stories of Finn, Cormac mac Airt, and Fiacha Broad Crown, whose fathers were destined to die as soon as they had begotten their sons.
When Daolgas son of Cairril lay dying, his daughter stooped over him and kissed him. As she did so, a spark of fire flew from his mouth to hers and she became pregnant. In due time she gave birth to a broad-crowned boy, and, since no other name was found for him, he was called by his father's name, Daolgas.`
