Happy 30th anniversary to one of my favourite shows of all time, #XenaWarriorPrincess ⚔️💜

"You've always said that I was the brave one. Look at you now. If this is to be our destiny, let's see it out together."

Xena is the type of show that everyone should watch once in their lifetime. It’s one of the best examples of the right cast and the right crew. They really did “Capture lightening in a bottle.” To quote Lucy Lawless herself.

It’s filled with camp, fantasy adventures, mixed with progressive storytelling and fun takes on historical events. A small New Zealand based crew and a big focus on practical effects. A lot of awesome guests stars playing Greek Gods and historical figures. But at the beating heart of it, is of course Lucy Lawless and Renee O’Connor who play the Warrior and the Bard. Developed, challenged and celebrated through six seasons, this show has (IMO) the best love story i’ve ever seen on television. 💜
Additionally, the show has the kindest and most generous and inclusive fandom i’ve ever experienced. Conventions still take place every year, with all of the main stars. They can walk freely and catch up with lifelong fans with no hastle or boundary violations. They raise crazy amounts of money for LGBTQIA+ charities. They host a self funded Xenite retreat every year and some cast members attend and host various classes. It’s all just a beautiful experience and i’m so proud to be part of it.
