Yesterday, I participated as a supervisor at a local youth organization's children's festival and organized the draussenfuchs.de fox hunt. A total of almost 300 children attended the festival, and about 90 fox hunts took place. It was a lot of fun. But in the evening, I fell straight into bed.

@DK4HAA What kind of batteries do you have installed? Mine were instantly drained when I read 300 children
@yo3gnd 2 AA in the transmitter last about 120 hours. And the stock battery of the Quansheng lasts about 24 to 48 hours in receive, depending on the volume. It runs the ARDF firmware, so TX is disabled.
@yo3gnd oh, haha, and I was running on water, joyful kids laughter and French fries that day.
@DK4HAA I've always wanted to try a fox hunt 🦊 but never had the chance
Looks like a lot of fun
@va3ekr it is. I simplified it a lot, using 70 cm transmitters in the license free part of the band, so non-hams can host it as well. It's all diy. Each transmitter has a color coded symbol next to it and kids draw the symbol in the corresponding box on their card. Take a look at https://draussenfuchs.de to get an impression.

@DK4HAA Your equipment looks great, the fox logo on the site is very cute, and you have really made it fun for the kids!
I can only imagine how much fun they must have had! Great ambassador for the hobby!
