Honestly there needs to be an open source WhstsApp replacement.

That exists. It’s called Signal.

Say "hello" to a different messaging experience. An unexpected focus on privacy, combined with all of the features you expect.

But dont try to use it in Russia (or Iran, or anywhere with authoritarian government). That’s how you put a target on your head.

I’d suggest matrix but it kind of sucks as well.
