chertiThey already have regular credit card payment (and Paypal I think) for donations, are there any indications that this wouldn't also be available for the backup solution as well?

Someone else already mentioned it, but if we do this, it would be putting our entire donation system in jeopardy. Google could claim that they’re no longer donations, but rather a service, and then we’d have to pay the Google tax on every donation. I honestly wish we could make it a donation perk, and it’s one of the things we initially wanted to do when planning the feature, but we just can’t risk it.
