This Is My Glasgow

The Mathematician. Situated on the former Buchanan Institute for Destitute Children on Greenhead Street in the Bridgeton area of Glasgow, it was created in 1874. The sculptor, William Brodie, was also responsible for one of Scotland's most famous statues, that of GreyFriars Bobby on the George IV Bridge in Edinburgh.

They need to turn the statue through 180° to make the nose more difficult to reach and to encourage the crowds onto Candlemaker Row which has less traffic
