Similar to our first ever #LaEsoterica feature “Alice”/“ Něco z Alenky” (1988), “Faust”/“Lekce Faust” (1994) is comprised of a combination of live action acting, puppetry & various forms of animation (stop motion, claymation, etc) #LaEsoterica#Faust1994#JanSvankmajer#Alice1988
This performance originally ran at the American Ballet Theatre in NYC and was a collaboration between American dancer, choreographer, and author Twyla Tharp and Latvian-American dancer, choreographer, and actor Mikhail Baryshnikov. Sorry the video is so crappy, idk why no one has remastered this performance #LaEsoterica#BaryshnikovByTharp#MikhailBaryshnikov#TwylaTharp#dance
Our final art installation is “Gravity”. This site specific kinetic light projection is by French artist and musician Yann Nguema ((https://youtu.be/e-qVhGEmIbE?si=zfihfzzMa6ogjZFm) and it utilizes the combination of light projections, intricate computer programming, music (composed by Nguema) and the space of Colmar, France’s 14th century, Gothic-style church Église Saint-Martin. #LaEsoterica#YannNguema#art
