I run all the standard desktop operating systems and both of the standard server operating systems. Namely, my daily driver is macOS, my work computer is Windows 11, and one of my database servers is running Ubuntu Desktop.

I work on Windows Servers every weekday and all of my personal servers run Ubuntu and Debian.

And nothing... *nothing* takes as long to update as Microsoft Windows 11. I started three updates almost thirty minutes ago.

And two are still running.

And the best part? The best part is that sometimes, after a Windows 11 update, I get the "LET'S SET UP YOUR PC!" dialogue and walkthrough.

I've had this PC for months. It's set up, sat down, and I've been set to use it for....

*checks watch*

40 minutes now.

And the thing is, Windows 11 runs pretty well if you use it like I do, which is to run various services, a SQL Server Database, and a VM and after I update them once a week I never interact with the OS directly unless I absolutely have to.

I mean, they're sitting on a rack, in a storeroom, in my basement.

If there's anything I've learned about Windows 11 it's "Don't touch it and everything will be fine."
