OK, new laptop time.
Strangely, despite generally being into tech I hate shopping for laptops, so I am looking for a few recommendations to shortlist.
I need for a machine for #GIS, #CAD, #acoustic modelling and #python development that has:
* a discrete video card which will handle these workloads
* thunderbolt support
* good build quality
* 64GB or better RAM
* a decent multi-core processor that will handle calculating models in VMs
* 4k screen (though it will spend 90% of the time hooked up to a 40" monster curved screen)
* full size SD card slot would be nice, but I suppose I could carry an adaptor so I could compromise on this.
* linux support as that is what will be running
* Not from a US company.

So far the Tuxido Stellaris 16 - Gen7 - i9 275HX w/ RTX 5070 Ti is leading my list, with the Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 7 following behind. I was wondering whether any of you peeps have experience with either or use something else that might be worth considering?

@2trax as a brand, you can beat Lenovo ThinkPads for quality. I've used them for 15 years when they were still "IBM". I have a T16 now and love it.
@itsjustmehere Thanks for the feedback! I've heard great things about them but always been given Dells (XPS and Precision) so it is good to hear from someone who uses one.
