Maja Smrekar’s internationally acclaimed K-9 Topology: Hybrid Family (Golden Nica at Ars Electronica Festival 2017) project was highly misused in a far-right campaign by the Slovenian Democratic Party. Across Europe, artists face growing threats as their works are decontextualized for ideological purposes.
